List of Some of My Poetry on Y!CN

This isn't a full list of my work on Y!CN (associatedcontent.com), but it is an introduction to some of my work. Some of the poems need editing. Keep in mind formatting a poem on the internet can be treacherous...in other words some poems do not line up the way I'd like them to.

If you have any questions leave them in the comment box please OR email me at the_lady_writes@yahoo.com At the bottom of each poem is a comment box, you can leave comments and questions in there as well. Thank-you for your support!
~Sam

F is for Freedom Quotes

I decided to do quotes about Freedom for the letter F. I find that quotes are little glimpses of the past. It is always interesting to see what others have to say about other subjects.

Legum servi sumus ut liberi esse possimus. (We are slaves of the law so that we may be free.)
~ Cicero

Liberae sunt nostrae cogitationes. (Our thoughts are free.)
~Cicero

Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people.
~John Adams

Freedom is not worth  having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.
~Mahatma Gandhi

Man was born free, but everywhere he is in chains.
~Jean-Jacques Rousseau

Only the educated are free.
~Epicetus

Freedom is the right to live as we wish.
~Epicetus

The basis of a democratic state is liberty.
~Aristotle

Give me the liberty to know, to utter, and to argue freely according to conscience, above all liberties.
~John Milton

History teaches us that grave threats to liberty often come in times of urgency, when constitutional rights seem too extravagant to endure.
~Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall
